The quick answer is YES!

Now I know a lot of people want to be the first to have an iPhone, like the Mayor of Philly who waited in line from 3:30am to buy one. Of course he did all his Mayoral duties while in line with his BlackBerry and actually left twice to give speeches, leaving a city employee to keep his place. We’ll give those 20 percent of the people the benefit of working out the iPhone bugs for the rest of us.

Here is why you should wait up to six months to buy an iPhone:

1. Apple rushes products out the door without proper testing. The first buyers are beta testers that are paying to test the product.
2. A slow network, Apple decided not to support AT&T’s UMTS-HSDPA 3G network, and will use AT&T’s EDGE network. Why have the great web features, then cripple them with a slow connection.
3. No Business applications, although you can read Word and Excel files you cannot edit them. You get more business app’s with the Blackberry.
4. Can’t change the battery without sending it to a dealer. This is one of those iAnything problems that everything is just packed into the box.
5. No Java, Windows Media Player, Real Player, and Flash Video support for Safari make the browsing experience sorely lacking.

For all those reasons and more that I haven’t seen or heard about, I would wait at least 6 months to get an iPhone.
